“Our kitchen is the anchor of our house. It is the
heart and soul and it tells everyone passing through exactly who we are.
My wife and I created the kitchen to show our love for the Texas hill
country. The sounds of Willie, Waylon, and Jerry Jeff Walker are often
heard over a cup of coffee. This is where family and friends gather to
cook wonderful meals, plan vacation trips, and talk about our lives. It
is big and sturdy, it is sophisticated, but more important—it’s
comfortable. This is what I enjoy doing for my customers. Creating a
place in their home that says… ‘this is me’!”
“My favorite designs can be found right in our
showroom. We sell right off of the floor, so our vignettes are
constantly evolving. With a large staff of talented designers, our
showroom is a creative collaboration of a multitude of design styles
showcased in the vignettes throughout the store. I love this bedroom
vignette because of the fresh purple paired with the spunky tangerine.
The bed makes quite a statement on its own. However, I’d have to say
that my favorite thing here is the square white & orange bench ottomans
that add a stylish yet functional “pop” at the end of the bed.”
“Comfort, family, and friends make a house a home. I
personally enjoy entertaining, having a great meal and gathering in the
kitchen to catch up on events with family and friends. I love the whole
idea of entertaining—from the recipes I choose; to the center piece; to
selecting the perfect garnish—everything works together to make
preparing and sharing a meal a memorable occasion. Creating a kitchen
environment that facilitates entertaining and also provides a functional
space for an entire family is one thing I aim to bring to each one of my
clients. In my kitchen, the large island is irreplaceable—whether my
guests choose the bar stools or the granite top to sit on—conversation
is always good company. Well it’s pretty much a necessity for this
cook!”
Over the years I have been pleased with several of
the interior and exterior living spaces I have designed for my clients.
Although each of these projects is unique in their expression, they
ultimately reflect the style and personality of the homeowner. The one
space that truly reflects my lifestyle and has become my refuge for
escaping the day is my master suite. The size of the space allows me to
have a sitting/living area as well as a comfortable place to fall asleep
at night. Most importantly, this room has become the gathering place for
our family. Often times, our grandchildren will pile on the bed with
popcorn in hand to watch a movie with grandma and grandpa. These are the
times we cherish and wouldn’t trade for anything.”
“I chose to shoot in the Antique Stop showroom for
this editorial because to me it’s the epitome of what I like to surround
myself with daily—talented and passionate designers, fine furnishings,
opulent custom draperies, fabulous original art work and one-of-a-kind
antiques. Antique Stop isn’t just about one person’s preferences or
design aesthetic—it’s about the entire Antique Stop team working
together to bring the best possible artistic vision and customer service
to our clients.” Pictured from left to right: Melissa Allsops, Interior

When I designed this house for my client we had
already worked on two previous homes together. The only items we brought
from the previous home were two 18th century temple chests on acrylic
pedestals from a palace in Asia. They set the tone for the entire home.
I love the formality of the entry and the living room and the views of
the backyard and swimming pool. It is like being in a five star hotel
everyday.”
